London and Area Golf History November 9, 2017

Classy Remembrance Day display in the Thames Valley Pro Shop. Thames Valley was closed for golf from 1940-1946 in order to serve as a military training base for soldiers from all over South-Western Ontario. Photos in the display document this period of time. No other golf course would have a history like this. Remember all of our Veterans at this time of year.

  1. A shout out to the grounds crew at River Road for keeping the course going without irrigation all summer.

    1. Yes Tim, the crew did a great job. In the golf business avoiding a disaster is sometimes a victory. Enjoyed all my rounds at “The Road” this year and the spirit of the loyal River Road golfers always shines through. Lots of fun moments at the “Course From Hell” on Sunday.
